All-Star Game at Fenway?

November 6th, 2008 · No Comments

…in 2012?  Well, Red Sox ownership has asked Major League Baseball to consider it.  2012 will be the 100th anniversary of the opening of Fenway Park, so it would be really cool to have an All-Star Game there to celebrate the occasion.

Fenway Park has changed a lot since the last All-Star Game they hosted, back in 1999.  Ever since Henry, Lucchino and Werner took over, they have been making renovations to the park each year, and there is still more to come.   Only Fenway Park and Chicago’s Wrigly Field remain out of the old-time ballparks, and the Sox ownership is committed to playing at Fenway for a good long time into the future.

I know I appreciated the building of new restrooms, espcially for women.  They’ve also been adding more seating, and better food and bevergage options; I bet they even have espresso machines now, for those who want a good cappuccino or latte at the game. Gotta grow with the times, yanno?

I hope they do get to have the 2012 All-Star Game at Fenway.  I know that even if I could get a ticket, I’d not be able to afford it, anyway.

Besides, won’t someone please think of Stephen King?  He had to miss that game because he got run over by some doofus in a van, and was badly injured.  Maybe he won’t have to wait too much longer for another chance.
