To the Granite State Baseball Dinner, that is?  Tickets are still very much available, they cost $75 per person.  That might seem steep, but I was looking to see how much it costs to go to the Red Sox Hall of Fame Dinner, that costs $350 a pop.  Yikes!  Actually, they are calling that a “gala”, which would mean that if I went, I’d have to do the unspeakable and wear a dress.  Sorry, not gonna happen.  But since I don’t have $700 laying around so that me and Mike can go, it’s all moot.  Hell, we could stay a few nights at one of those nice laughlin hotels for what this thing would cost.

It has recently been announced that in addition to the first six announced guests at the Granite State Dinner, former Fisher Cat and current Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Litsch will attend.  He joins an all-star lineup, including Johnny Pesky, Josh and Jeremy Papelbon (younger twin brothers of Jonathan, both in the minors right now), Lou Merloni, Rich Gedman, and Bernie Carbo.  Who knows who else will decide to show up?

Everyone who attends will also receive a FREE autographed photo of Johnny Pesky, whose  number 6 was recently retired at Fenway Park.  And no doubt Johnny will be wearing his 2007 World Series ring…I met him at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium back in April, where he signed a book for me…he was wearing that ring, and WOW!  It is WAY more impressive in person than it is on TV.  If you attend the dinner, you will get to meet him, too.  He is such a nice guy.

There will also be a raffle of Red Sox memorabilia.  There will be a 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox autographed team photo, a signed picture of Red Sox legend Ted Williams and an autographed photo of David Ortiz up for grabs.  You can purchase raffle tickets in advance HERE…they cost $10 each, three for $20.  You do not need to attend the dinner to win, although they will have the drawings there.  Of course, all funds raised go to charity.

I’m excited about the dinner, and I hope to see you there!
