Catching up…
So we went on Sunday to see the Worcester Tornadoes for the first time. It was their last home game of the regular Can-Am League season. They might well make it to the playoffs, though. I doubt we’ll go, because Woostah is a bit of a schlep for us. Especially if the playoff games are in the middle of the week.
The Tornadoes did win their final home game, though…they managed to beat Ottawa 6-4. But they almost screwed it up big-time, good thing they came back later to score two more runs and win!
I took a few pics of Fitton Field with my better camera, I will get them posted up here one of these eons. But for now, the camera phone one in the previous post will have to do. It’s a nice little ballpark, pretty much what you’d expect from an indie league team. The Tornadoes clearly have a large fan base, as the park was pretty packed.
This ballpark was very easy to find, parking is easy and convenient, and the experience there is fun. We will definitely plan a return visit next season.
So tomorrow, Mike is skipping out of work early, coming home to get me, and we’re off to the next-to-last NH Fisher Cats home game of the season. I can’t let go of them just yet…one more game…and we’ll get there early enough so that I can hopefully collect my Clay Buchholz bobblehead for my vast collection.
But this is not the last we will see of the Fisher Cats this season…this coming weekend, we are headed up to Maine, where we will see the ‘Cats playing the Portland Sea Dogs on Saturday and Sunday, at Hadlock Field.
And tonight is Red Sox vs. Y*****s, for their final series at Y***** Stadium. For the regular season, that is…not that the Skanks are gonna have much of a chance at a post-season. Maybe Steinbrenner pissing off Joe Torre, and making him quit and go to the Manny Ramirezes Dodgers was not such a brilliant idea after all.
Well, I hope Georgie-Porgie and Hankie-Pankie have memberships to the wine of the month club. They are gonna need it, to drown their sorrows over the Skanks not making it to the playoffs at all.
At least the Sox still have a shot at the Wild Card. Not holding out much hope now for the division, but we’ll take the Wild Card!
GO SOX!!! SPANKEES YUCK!
