Christine’s Bobblehead Store

…coming someday to an online auction site near you!

bobbleheadstore

I have quite the collection of bobbleheads, many of them being giveaways at ballparks. Above is a pic of a stack of them that I have, still in the boxes.

Now, I love bobbleheads.  But Mike can take or leave them.  However, when we go to games, and they are giving these away, he takes one, as well.  So we have a lot of duplicates.  One of each gets displayed with the rest of my personal collection, the others are still in the boxes.

I’ve been checking around, and some of these could get some decent cash at online auction sites.  So I was thinking that once I get a larger collection, I can open a small store at said online auction site and see what I can get for the dupes.

What I need to do is go through these, make sure they aren’t broken or anything, and then put them back in the boxes and label the boxes.  All of the boxes look the same, I can’t tell you what is in what box without looking.  Then I should take them to our storage unit and keep them there until I’m ready to list them.  At least in storage, the cats can’t knock them off the shelf and break them!

This is yet another use for the very nice Brother P-Touch Label Maker, the one I got on sale at Buy.com a while back.  It makes nice, professional-looking labels, that I can stick on the boxes and make it easier to organize and eventually sell these things.

labelmaker

This is an excellent value for a very nice label maker.  When I saw it on Buy.com for such a low prices, I grabbed it.  I took advantage of the FREE shipping deal and had it within a week after I placed the order.

The label maker uses thermal tape, which means that no ink cartridge is necessary.  One tape cartridge is included, and you can easily get more either from Buy.com, or at any friendly neighborhood office supply megamart.

This is simple to use right out of the box, I barely needed to use the instructions.  Just be aware that it does take 6 AAA batteries that are not included.  It can also operate with an AC adaptor, which is also not included.  So if you get one, make sure you have a power source ready for when it arrives!

What bobbleheads do I have?  Well, I’ll tell you about a few of them.  One is of Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd that we got at a Brockton Rox game a few years ago.  He was on the Red Sox years ago, but signed with the Rox for a season or two.

Another is kind of odd…Rico Petrocelli, in, of all things, a Trenton Thunder uniform.  I blogged about that when we got these, about how Petrocelli, as far as I could find out, never played nor coached for the Thunder.

We also have two of the Ted Williams bobbleheads that the Fisher Cats were giving out to anyone who bought season tickets or mini-plans.  The Cats were limiting these to one per ticket-buying household…but we ended up getting two because we bought the mini-plan again for this year, and they were still giving out these bobbleheads.  However, I think they are finally out of these, as they stopped advertising them as a freebie for buying mini-plans or season tickets.  They are still offering most of the other free schwag, though, such as various gift cards and stuff.

Anyhoo, that’s a small sampling of what I’ve got, and of the labeling I need to do.  When I finally am ready to put these up for sale, you’ll be the first to know!
