…have you finished shopping for gifts yet? Me, I’m bad…I’ve not even started! But I don’t buy too many gifts for people, anyway…just for Mike and maybe a few friends. That’s it.
A gift that will warm the heart of any baseball fan in this cold weather is…2008 baseball tickets! There are Red Sox tickets on sale now, but they are expensive and more difficult to get hold of than the latest game for the xbox 360.
But how about MINOR LEAGUE tickets? Not only are they much easier to get, they are much less expensive.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats now have full and half season tickets, as well as mini-plans, on sale now. I don’t think that they have single game tickets for sale yet, though.
We had a mini-plan last year, and we plan to get one again this year. There are a variety of plans to choose from. Or, you can buy a six-game “Cat Pack” which contains tickets good for any game in the 2008 season.
The Portland Sea Dogs have single game and season tickets on sale now, as do the Pawtucket Red Sox. Since these teams are both Red Sox affiliates, good seats go fast. So it’s really not too soon to think about buying tickets…for a Christmas gift, or just for yourself.
Also, the independent league Brockton Rox have recently announced that tickets are now on sale. Their games are a lot of fun…Campanelli Stadium is one of my favorite minor league ballparks.
Of course, in addition to being able to buy tickets now, all sorts of team swag is available on each team’s website. Also, some teams have opened their box offices and souvenir stores just for holiday shopping, check websites for hours.
The snow may be falling, but it’s never to soon to start dreaming of summer!

Christine...seen here with spousal unit, Mike, and two very cool pieces of hardware!
