…to David Ortiz, aka “Big Papi”. The Dominican Republic born Red Sox designated hitter became an American citizen yesterday. Story here.

Too bad he’s on the disabled list right now. It would have been cool if he could have run out onto the field at Fenway, waving an American flag. Manny Ramirez did this a few years ago when he became a citizen.

Big Papi is one of my favorite Red Sox players, and I miss him so much. Hopefully soon, he’ll get that cast off, and maybe be able to work out in one of those home gyms as much as he can, and come back to us soon!

Congratulations, Papi! We love you! :D
