Well, all I can say is that I wish him the best. I really hope he can come back and pitch sometime in the 2008 season. He re-signed for just this one year, and chances are good that this will be his last. Not just with the Sox, but perhaps as an MLB pitcher anywhere.
Maybe it really is time for him to hang it up and retire after this year. Then he can spend more time with his family, and work more on his charities. He certainly won’t be lacking for anything to do.
So now the Sox need to find another starter, until if/when Schill comes back. Who will it be? Certainly not Johan Santana, he signed with the Mets. Oh, well.
