Granite State Baseball Dinner Update
As previously promised, here is an update on who will be at the Granite State Baseball Dinner. From the press release:
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announced the first wave of confirmed guests for the Saturday, November 21st, Granite State Baseball Dinner, presented by Northeast Delta Dental. Headlining the guest list is Granite State native and St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Chris Carpenter, a leading contender for the National League Cy Young Award. Joining Carpenter at the head table will be Toronto Blue Jays pitcher and former Fisher Cat Jesse Litsch, Boston Red Sox Hall of Famers Bob Stanley and Bernie Carbo, minor league pitchers Jeremy and Josh Papelbon, twin younger brothers of Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon, and special guest Angelo Dundee, the Hall of Fame boxing trainer. The annual charitable dinner, which will be held at the Radisson Hotel Expo Center in downtown Manchester, NH, benefits the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD), the Ted Williams Museum and the Fisher Cats Foundation, a statewide charitable organization that provides scholarships to college-bound New Hampshire and Massachusetts high school seniors.
CHaD is a leading children’s hospital in New Hampshire, and the Fisher Cats have been helping to raise money for them for a long time now. The Ted Williams Museum is located in Tropicana Field, which is in St. Petersburg, not Orlando Florida. There is also a small branch of the Ted Williams Museum at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium, home of the Fisher Cats. And you can read more about the Fisher Cats Foundation HERE.
More special guests will be announced as we get closer to the event, and once again, I’ll post that info as soon as I get it!
