I am in mourning
Yes, for the Red Sox and the end of their season. And since fate often likes to kick a girl when she’s down, those stinking Y*****s swept the Twinkies. So, when the ALCS starts on Friday, I’ll have to root for the Angels, the same ones that applied Ye Olde Broome to the Sox. Because you know the drill – I support two teams, the Red Sox, and whoever’s playing the Y*****s. I remember something I saw on some other website many years ago, about how people would sooner root for the Saddam Hussein All-Stars if they were playing the Y*****s. Hell, I’d even buy a Promotional flash drive with the SH All-Stars logo on it!
Okay, as if this unfortunate turn of events was not enough, fate chose to give me yet another kick in the pants. Yesterday, our beloved Dusty-cat passed away. She had been rapidly losing weight, and seemed to be in some pain over the past day or so. I knew she didn’t have much time left in this world. We did our best to make her comfortable, and yesterday, she went and hid in the kitty condo, and passed on peacefully.
Dusty was 16 years old, which is pretty old for a cat. She had been with us since she was a little baby kitten, although she used to insist that she never was a kitten, that she was born mature.
So, fate…haven’t I suffered enough? Or are you going to kick me when I’m down yet again, and allow the Evil Empire to be World Champions? Please, Angels – if you want to live up to your name, you will dispose of the Y*****s ASAP.
It won’t bring back my Dusty-cat, but it will help heal my pain somewhat.
