…for Red Sox GM Theo Epstein and his wife, Marie. Actually, they probably did name him, I just couldn’t find any news story that mentioned the baby’s name.
So, Theo’s been a busy man…between celebrating the Red Sox’ World Series win, trying to deal for Johan Santana, and shopping for baby furniture…he’s had his plate full. And now, with the baby here, he can forget about sleeping for quite a while now.
I wonder what the baby’s nursery looks like. I remember seeing a picture of Manny Ramirez’ son’s room…it was decorated to look like a mini Fenway Park. I thought that was so cool…I’d love to have a room like that for myself! So I’m wondering if Theo and Marie went that route…when they were looking at baby cribs, did they envision getting one that could easily be painted to look like the Red Sox dugout, or bullpen, or something?
We’ll probably never know, since Theo is very private about his personal life. His son won’t be photographed and blasted on the covers of celebrity rags, like Tom Brady’s son with Bridget Moynihan has been. And that, I think, is a good thing!
Anyhoo, congrats to Theo and Marie on the new addition to their family! Now, Theo, if you can get us Johan Santana without forking over Jacoby Ellsbury, that will cap off what’s been a very good year for you!
