Jose Awfulman Banned From Domincan Winter League

You remember Jose Offerman, who we often called “Jose Awfulman”, because he was, well, AWFUL!  Why Dan Duquette paid as much as he did for this guy is something that only he understands for sure.  The guy certainly sucked at baseball, at least for some of the time he was with the Red Sox.

He’s also not a nice guy, has always had a bad temper.  It’s gotten worse in recent years.  Back in 2007, he was playing for the indie league Long Island Ducks, when he charged the mound and hit the pitcher and catcher of the opposing team with a bat.

He later became the manager of a team in the Dominican Winter Baseball League.  He was arguing with an umpire and took a swing at him.  This really dumb move has gotten him banned for life from the league.

Did he actually hit the ump or not? Looks like he might have. But anyway, he can probably forget about getting another job anywhere in baseball ever again. Nobody wants to deal with this crap. After he loses all his money due to lawsuits and criminal defense attorneys, he may have to find a job pumping gas. Or bagging groceries. Or writing a hydroxycut review. That is, if he can even get hired for that!
