Just about two weeks away!
I don’t think we’ve ever had tickets to an actual *opening day* before…*opening weekend*, maybe, but not the actual opening day. Usually this was because these are held during the week, and Mike had to work.
But this year, I was able to get a season mini-plan for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, who are the Class AA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays. I chose the *Sunday Funday* plan, which included only one non-Sunday game…opening night at MerchantsAuto.com Stadium.
Since we’re gonna be headed up to Portland for a Sea Dogs weekend for April 6-7-8, it was no problem for Mike to take an extra day off work so we could swing up to Manchester for Fisher Cats’ opening night.
And that’ll bode well for us. We can get up there early, find a place to park and grab something to eat…we usually like to hit JD’s Tavern at the Radisson Hotel, in beautiful downtown Manchester. The food is good, generous portions, and it’s smoke-free. New Hampshire is one of the few New England states that does not have a smoke-free law, so it’s always good to find a place that is smoke free voluntarily. Mike is severely allergic to cigarette smoke.
