Looooooooooou!
Merloni, that is…surely you remember him? Long before YOOOOOOOOOOOUK!

Anyhoo, Lou will be one of the special guests at the Granite State Baseball Dinner, which will be held on Saturday, November 22, at the Manchester National Guard Armory. Also confirmed to attend will be other former Sox players Rich Gedman, Bernie Carbo, and Johnny Pesky, as well as Jonathan Papelbon’s younger twin brothers, minor leagues Jeremy and Josh.
This is just who’s been confirmed so far…there will probably be more to come as the event draws near. But as far as Mike is concerned, Lou is worth the price of admission. As soon as I told him about the event, and that Lou would be there, he decided he wanted to go. So I think I will be buying tickets sooner than later.
There will be a silent auction to raise money for charity, and autograph sessions with all of the featured guests…no extra charge for autographs, this is included in the cost of your ticket. Doors will open at 5PM, and dinner will be served at 7PM.
I just need to figure out my fiances. The tickets cost $75 a pop, and we’ll need two. I’ve been socking away money so that I can get our 2009 Fisher Cats Sunday Funday mini-plan as soon as that goes on sale. I really want to be sure we get the exact same great seats we had for 2008. But that won’t go on sale probably until sometime in October, and Ye Olde PayPal accoount should be sufficiently replenished by then. I have been getting a lot of work lately, so I should be able to swing tickets to the dinner now (before they sell out) and then the mini-plan when the time comes. The next auto-shipment of my acne treatment stuff isn’t due to ship until the end of October, so I won’t have to worry about the money being deducted from my account until them. And there will be several paydays between now and then, anyway. So it should be okay.
$75 a pop might seem like a lot for dinner, but this is for charity. Money raised will benefit the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD), the Ted Williams Museum, and the Fisher Cats Foundation. So for your money, you can meet some baseball greats, and help others at the same time. Priceless!
For more info, visit the Granite State Baseball Dinner page at the Fisher Cats website.  It will link you over to where you can order your tickets online. Or you can order by phone or at the Fisher Cats box office in person.
