Manny being Manny

…or it is really Scott (Boras) being Scott? Probably a little of both. Manny rejects $25 million offer.  That’s $25 mil for ONE YEAR.  What’s the matter, is that not enough money for both him and Boras to live on?  Is that not enough to buy a spiffy new car, or a nice big piece of Wilmington NC real estate on which to build a vacation home?

Seriously, how much money does one person really need?  It is not as if they can ever spend it all in one lifetime.  And all it does is drive up ticket prices, and given the current economy, who can afford to attend a big-market MLB game any more?

I am sick of Scott Boras and his greed, and I’ve been sick of Manny, too…glad he is gone.  And I think most of the other teams are sick of them, too, as I don’t see any of them beating down the door to acquire Manny.  Nobody was beating on the door to get Jason Varitek, another Boras client, either.  He ended up re-signing with the Sox for a lot less than Boras wanted.

It would serve Manny right to have to sit out the season due to having no takers.
