I had to click on this LA Times article, mostly because I wanted to see if Manny had indeed cut off his dreadlocks and got a buzzcut yet. Joe Torre has a rule about short hair, you know. Just like Georgie-Porgie did with the Y*****s.
But no, there was a picture of Manny in full dreadlocked glory. I wonder now if they will ever make him cut his hair…or will “Manny be Manny” and refuse?
I think they should let him alone. One of the things I love about the Red Sox is nobody cares about hairstyles, facial hair, and all. They don’t want it to be a workplace where everyone has to wear the same old company logo shirts every day. Yeah, they have to wear the uniforms, obviously, but Tito has no rules about hair or lack thereof.
Oh well. I wish Manny the best in LA, it was time he went elsewhere to be Manny. So they are selling piles of #99 jerseys…cool. The reason that Manny cannot be #24 in LA is because that number has been retired, it belonged to legendary Dodger manager Walter Alston. So Manny can’t have it. Neener, neener, neener! He could have had it plastered up at Fenway next to 1, 4, 8, 9, 27 and 42. Oh, well. Not gonna happen now!
In the meantime, I am LOVING Jason Bay. Manny WHO?
