North Shore Navigators
I recently got an email from a guy who works for the North Shore Navigators, who is a fan of Ye Olde Blogge (thank you!). He told me that Opening Day will be on June 7, at 7PM, at Fraser Field, in Lynn. I checked my schedule, and it looks like we can be there, so we probably will.
The Navigators are a part of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. They used to be the Holyoke Giants, but they moved and changed their name. Fraser Field in Lynn used to be the home of the North Shore Spirit of the CanAm League, but they went belly-up, and I was wondering for a while what they’d do with that nice ballpark.
Well, now we know. They have a new college league team there, and who knows, they could be future major leaguers. I’m a big fan of all minor and independent league ball, it is often just as good as what you pay zillions of dollars to see at Fenway. And you can see them BEFORE they get to Fenway (or wherever).
Anyhoo, if you are in the area, go and check these guys out! After we go, I will post pics and a review of it all.
