Scott Boras is a weenie, part deux…

The Dodgers KNOW that the only way to keep Manny is to agree to Boras’ usual terms of signing aging players for way too long, and way too much money.  The Dodgers have offered two years for $55 million, but I have the feeling that Boras won’t accept it because the contract is not long enough.

At least this is no longer the problem of the Red Sox.

But I think they both should be ashamed of themselves.  Really, how much money does any one guy need in a lifetime?  Don’t these greedy players and agents realize how much they are hurting baseball with these insanely high salaries?  If this country is not in a recession yet, it soon will be, and people will not be able to afford to pay the increased ticket prices to cover all of this.  The average American has to cut back, big-time, on non-essential items, such as trips, travel medical insurance, and yes, Major League Baseball tickets.

Baseball needs a salary cap, and it needs one NOW.
