This is the view from our room this past weekend at the Inn at St. John. See the baseball lights sticking up in the sky? That’s Hadlock Field, home of the Portland Sea Dogs. This is only about a block and a half away from the Inn at St. John, which is why we chose this particular hotel for this trip.

But did we get to go into Hadlock Field at all this weekend? NOOOOOOO! And WHY, you may ask?

Snow. Stupid floopin’ SNOW! Grrrr….. mad

But, you may say…I don’t see much in the way of snow in that picture. To which I respond…nope…but this is from WEDNESDAY’S snowstorm, the one which dumped about a foot onto the city of Portland, and caused many people to lose power. Snow can be plowed from roads and stuff, but you can’t use a plow on grass, unless you don’t care if the grass is removed along with the snow. That snow inside Hadlock had to be shoveled MANUALLY.

Go HERE for pics from the Sea Dogs’ website showing this long, tedious snow removal process!

So…no baseball for us this weekend, unless you want to count watching the Red Sox lose TWICE on TV. But we won’t talk about that right now! We swapped our unused tickets for a game in June, and two more in August. And it had better NOT snow then!

And I decided to enter this in the Fuel My Blog photo contest, with the theme “View From My Window”…go and check it out
