Stitch N’ Pitch goes for a World Record!
Are you a New York Mets fan? Are you a crocheter? Then you can be a part of history, and make the Guinness Book of World Records!
On June 5, at Citi Field, Stitch N’ Pitch will be going for a Guinness World Record. They would like to get the most people crocheting simultaneously, at the same venue. If you are interested in participating, please click HERE for further info (.pdf file).
Stitch N’ Pitch also has events at many other Major and Minor League ballparks all over the world. Most are open not only to crocheters, but to knitters and other needlecrafters, as well. This looks to be a fun way to be creative, meet fellow needlecrafters, and enjoy a ball game, all at the same time!. Please visit the Stitch N’ Pitch website to see if there is an event at a ballpark near you.
You can even learn to crochet or knit at these events, if you don’t already know how. People learn to do needlecrafts for many reasons. Some people start in order to do something with their hands, such as when they are trying to quit smoking or lose weight…I’d rather spend money on yarn than on stuff like phentermine! Sometimes, it’s the camaraderie with fellow needlecrafters that people enjoy. Always, it’s the joy of creating something special, for yourself or to give as a gift.
I had never heard of Stitch N’ Pitch until today; I learned about this event on the Facebook page of The Crochet Dude™. It would be cool if some of the ballparks in New England would host an event like this. I may have to let them know about it!
