Tap…tap…is this thing on?

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? But I’m still very much alive, just been busy with life and my other blogs.

So far, winter has not been as hellish as it has in past years. I’ve been using a light box to treat my Seasonal Affective Disorder, and it has been working wonders. For years, I thought that I was depressed during the winter due to lack of baseball. But this usually didn’t kick in until AFTER the holidaze. This year it kicked in before Toikey Day, so I knew it was something more serious.

The true litmus test, though, will be how I get through February. I’ve always hated February. It may be the shortest month of the year, but to me, it seems to drag on for years, as if I were walking on a treadmill to get to the end.

How many more days until pitchers and catchers report?

Baseball news…well, there’s the whole deal with Roger Clemens. Yanno, I really haven’t liked the guy much since he donned The Evil Pinstripes. But for some strange reason unknown to me, I tend to believe him, that he never used any steroids. I could be wrong, who knows?

But hey, I was one of the few who did better than the news pollsters and predicted that John McCain and Hillary Clinton would win the New Hampshire primaries! ;)

Maybe it’s that I really want to believe it’s not true. As much as I don’t like the guy for being a Y*****, he is indeed one of the greats (if he really didn’t cheat, that is), and I’d love to see him get inducted into the Hall of Fame (the one he said he didn’t give a rat’s ass about) when the times comes. And since it looks like he has FINALLY retired, he could get in five years from now, if he can prove his innocence now.

Speaking of the Hall of Fame, I was VERY disappointed to see that Jim Rice didn’t make it this year.  Why couldn’t it have been him and Goose Gossage?  I figured that this year, since there weren’t any humongous names in the running, as there were last year (Ripken and Gwynn, both of who deserved to go in on their first year of eligibility), Rice would have a better shot.

Oh, well…wait ’til next year!

Hey…that’s something we haven’t had to say in a while, isn’t it?  Isn’t it nice to be on the winning side of things, after so many years of Red Sox suckage? ;)
