THE SOX WIN THE PENNANT!

As expected, Game 7 was a real nail-biter for a while.  You may have heard me screaming bad words when Julio Lugo dropped that fly ball that Manny could have caught.  I was SO afraid that this could end up costing us the game.

The pitching was good.  Dice-K didn’t screw up too badly, and he did get the win.  Tito was smart enough to pull him for Okajima, who also did very well.  And Jonathan “Riverdance” Papelbon pitched the final two innings, to get the save.  Meanwhile, the Sox bats really came alive, and went from a 3-2 lead to win by 11-2.

If Dustin Pedroia doesn’t win Rookie of the Year, there is something seriously wrong.

So now we wait for the Rockies, game one of the World Series is Wednesday night.  I don’t think that the Sox and Rox have ever played each other at all.  Not even in inter-league play during the regular season, not that I can remember.   So this will be new for both teams.

It’s a great time to be a Sox fan! :D
