Times are tough
If you’re like me, you are enjoying NOT getting endless credit card bills from Christmas 2009. But sadly, the vast majority of Americans ARE paying off bills for all of the overpriced crap they bought for the holidaze.
And now that baseball season is about to start again, many clubs are selling tickets for the upcoming season NOW, too many fans are coming up empty-pocketed. The credit cards are maxed out, all available cash has to go toward not only paying those bills off, but for daily necessities, as well.
Tell me something…is going overboard for ONE DAY out of the year really worth having to give up your fun the other 364 days? When you are paying those credit card bills, are you cursing yourself for buying all of this crap, much of which the kids have long become bored with? Are you upset because baseball tickets are now on sale, but you can’t get in now to get the best seats, because the money is not there?
If so…I TOLD YOU SO!
Over the holiday season, people were falling all over themselves to locate one of those Zhu-Zhu Pets, the “hot” toy of 2009. And people were spending PLENTY to get one, to keep Junior happy on Christmas Day. A lot of people who did manage to get their hands on these artificial hamsters turned around and sold them on eBay, often for as much as hundreds of dollars. And PEOPLE WERE PAYING IT!.
I kept suggesting to people that they wait a couple of months until Christmas was over. Then, if their kid still wanted a Zhu-Zhu Pet badly enough, they will likely be back in supply, at affordable prices.
Well…I WAS RIGHT! This little guy, named Pip Squeak, is on sale at Buy.com for under ten bucks, with a FREE shipping option. I also noticed that Buy.com now has in stock other hamsters, as well as accessories for them, all at very affordable prices.
I hope that all of you who blew your hard-earned money on these things BEFORE the holidaze, and are still paying off the bills for them, are kicking yourselves now. I’m sorry, but I have NO pity for you.
I have tickets for ALL of the games listed to the left, many, including the New Hampshire Fisher Cats’ Sunday Funday mini-plan, bought before Christmas, right around the time when the rest of the world was blowing hundreds of dollars on artificial hamsters. We didn’t even do a big Christmas thing this year…we’d rather have spent the money on all these tickets, so we could have something to look forward to and enjoy all summer long.
Remember this next year, when the next new “hot” toy comes out.
