Ugh…

I actually passed on listening to both of the Sox/Y*****s games this week. See, I seem to have caught yet another bug, and spent too much time in bed. The radio in the bedroom doesn’t pick up AM very well; it makes weird noises and all. Very annoying.

And it’s not a cheap radio, we got it from Cambridge Soundworks. My $60 Magnavox shelf system in the living room, where my computer is, doesn’t have this problem. Mike thinks he knows what might be wrong with it, though, and he’s going to try to make some time to take it apart this weekend to see if he can fix the problem.

I could have used the XM satellite receiver to hear the game through 107.1 FM. But the thing with satellite is that it gets the feed from the home team…so I’d have had to hear Y***** announcers. And with the way the Sox got their asses kicked on Wednesday, I only would have felt like gacking all the more to hear that John Sterling dude with his “Y*****s win…Y*****S WIIIIIIN!” thing.

At least the Sox won last night, so that splits the series, and has the Sox one game ahead of the Y*****s so far this season.
———-
But the Y*****s aren’t completely evil. Although I’m sick to death now of hearing about the Big Papi shirt that some construction worked buried in the new Y***** Stadium, it was nice to hear about what they did with it when it was dug up. It’s up for auction on eBay…you can see the listing HERE (at least until the auction ends, on April 24.

The winner will not only receive the infamous buried jersey, but a new, clean jersey suitable for wearing, as well as two tickets to a Sox game at Fenway, where the goods will be presented to the winning bidder.

The good part is that the proceeds from this sale will benefit the Jimmy Fund, which is the official charity of the Red Sox. Hell, they could have just sold the jersey so that Georgie Porgie could buy a new Rolex, or some prime Wilmington real estate, or something like that…but nope, it’s all for charity. As I type this, the bidding is up to $33,100.00. Wonder how high it will get by the end of the auction? In any case, that’s a nice handsome sum for the Jimmy Fund!

See…once in a while I CAN say something nice about the Y*****s! :D
