Well…

…chop me up into pieces and throw me onto a fire table! I just got my Portland Sea Dogs newsletter, and ticket sales for the 2008 season will start on Saturday, November 10…and NOT on November 3, as I had hoped. Used to be, the tickets went on sale for the first time on the same day as the Maine Brewers’ Festival. But not this time. If we want to get a good shot at buying good seats for next year, we’ll have to make a separate trip up there. The best seats are often sold out after this first day of sales, so it’s important to try to be there. I was just hoping that this would be on the same day as the beer fest, as we already have plans to be there that weekend.

Oh, well. Maybe we can make a day trip of it on the 10th. I was supposed to be going to Vegas that weekend, because I’d supposedly won a free trip to some blog convention there. But no one at the company who was giving away the prize has been arsed to tell me anything about the trip I won, as in what hotel they were putting me up in, or what airport I’d be flying out of. Asking about it is like talking to a brick wall. So I’ve given up, I’m NOT going to Vegas that weekend.

I think that a day trip to Portland to buy Sea Dogs tickets would go a long way to make me feel better about getting screwed on that Vegas trip. A visit to Federal Jack’s or Gritty’s, after the ticket-buying, to drink beer would help even more. And it might be more fun!

Cheers!
