The Sox are in Cincinnati for the weekend…for the first time since the infamous 1975 World Series. Thus begins a LONG streak of interleague play, the first six of those games being on the road. Then five back at Fenway, and the final three of this stretch in Houston.
Well, if we have to play a bunch of away interleague games, now is a good time, what with DH Big Papi out on the DL. As you know, the National League does not have the Designated Hitter Rule, so the Sox have to figure out how to get Papi into the lineup. Usually they let Youk or whoever sit a game out and put Papi on first base.

Have I ever mentioned what a PITA RedSox.com is? There are so many ads and video crap on it, it takes forever to load…it’s gotten so that users might have to buy more PC or Mac memory in order to view it.
And this is WITH a popup blocker. I use Firefox here at home, which has a great popup blocker. But Mike is forced to use Internet Explorer at work, and he says that all of the popups are annoying. On the other hand, his employer blocks Java stuff, which is a plus, I suppose.
Still, I liked things better before MLB took over all of the team websites and made them all of the same cookie cutter style. I know why they did it, in order to make more money selling ads, as well as selling their own products. but I miss the old RedSox.com. When you went to it, you would hear an audio clip of Sherm Feller, the old Fenway Park PA guy, saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Fenway Park”. I’m sure that a lot of you remember that.
The site loaded much faster and was not bogged down with a zillion ads, videos, and stuff. And I also miss the live chats that they used to have with some of the players.
Oh, well…what can you do?

Christine...seen here with spousal unit, Mike, and two very cool pieces of hardware!
