…remember how I said a few days ago that I was feeling under the weather? Well, it turned into more like On My Deathbed, Part Two. On My Deathbed, Part One took place last fall, and it forced me to miss the Maine Brewers’ Festival. You will never know how very very badly that sucked.
Well, this time, I not only missed Futures at Fenway (which I probably would not have gone to anyway), but also the Fisher Cats game today. I’m still feeling a bit shaky, and I didn’t want to take any chances on getting worse. This is what happened during On My Deathbed #1…I pushed myself too hard, didn’t rest enough, and it ended up getting worse, which is why we couldn’t go to the beer festival. As a matter of fact, Thanksgiving was kind of a blur, too. I really was hoping to never go through that again. I had the flu then, and the symptoms I’ve been having now are very similar. Who the heck gets the flu in the SUMMERTIME?
So, Mike went to the P.O. box to pick up mail yesterday, and I was happy to see that the tickets for this year’s Maine Brewers’ Festival had arrived. I hope that by being sick NOW, we’ll get it all out of the way for the rest of the year, and I won’t miss that, or any other fun stuff.
The only other interesting thing that came in the mail was the latest issue of “Memories & Dreams”, the member magazine for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Other than that, there were a couple of credit card solicitations and something from someone selling life insurance for kids. We get these all the time, even at the house, and I’m not sure why, since we don’t have any kids. It looks like a good deal for those who do have kids, though.
Anyhoo, I am still alive, and starting to feel better. But I’m still not pushing things. We have so much fun stuff coming up that I don’t want to miss out on. I’m hoping I’ll be okay for us to go to the Brockton Rox game this coming Saturday, and I have a long-awaited non-baseball event a week from today. A week after that is our vacation, where we have two Fisher Cats games and two Sea Dogs game. So I’ll definitely be taking it VERY easy this week!
